Don Gallo

Boys and girls,

He'll be rocking the Don Gallo porch tonight!

A big thank you to all of you who have come out in support of Chris.  It really means a great deal to him (and me!).  Really.

Let's pray it doesn't rain him out!

xoxo,
Chris' wifey

PS:  He plays at the Don Gallo off Hardin Valley.  Not to be confused with Casa Don Gallo on Northshore, which some of our friends went to before...  However, since we're talking about it - he has talked to the owners at Casa Don Gallo about playing there on other nights.  Be sure to request him when you go!

Emily Ellison

You remember Emily from Billy and Emily, right?

Her newest endeavor is painted cowboy boots!  They are too cute!

Emily uses a special paint and painting technique for leather.  She'll even personalize them any way you want her to.  If you have an older pair of cowboy boots that just need a little sprucing up, this would be perfect.  She says worn in boots soak the paint up more, but is happy to work her magic on new ones.

You can check them out on her website at emily-ellison.com.  Way to go, Emily!

Christmas is on it's way, right?!

Hello UT football!

First UT game of the season.  Go Vols!

First ever "tailgating" baby shower for our friends, Jessica and Corey.

They recently adopted a little girl and you can read all about their beautiful story on her blog.

As for the tailgate shower, who doesn't love treaties out of the back end of a pickup?!

First double date with these two fun people.

Emily and Billy who came to the shower all the way from Charleston, SC.

We searched high and low for tickets to the game (esp for Emily who has never been to a UT game), but came up empty handed.  We settled for loads of good conversation at the Mellow Mushroom.

I'll be back soon to tell you about Emily's newest endeavor...
and it involves cowboy boots.  Get excited!

Baby Charlie

The day after my sister's wedding Chris and I headed to his parents house.

There were some cute little cheeks we wanted to kiss.

Uncle Rick and Aunt Suzanne came up for the weekend and brought their little grandson, Charlie.

He was sleeping on his Mimi with his little hand wrapped in her necklace.

It wasn't long though before he was up.

He was still a little sleepy, trying to get a handle on all the commotion around him.

Charlie is a little Alabama baby and his Aunt Natalie got him a new little outfit for the season.

"Hello, baby Charlie."

He has gotten so big since we last got to see him!  Babies change so much in just a few months.

Sitting safe in his grandfather's arms.

We all got turns holding him during dinner.

What a cute smile!

For four months old, he has quite a few expressions!  :)

Look at his little hand!

You just can't get enough of those little hands and feet.

Don't you wonder what babies are thinking?

That night I got to give him his dinner bottle.  And let me tell you - if you don't already love a baby, just wait until you're feeding him and he looks up at you with those sweet baby eyes.

Swoon!

Charlie sitting with Cousin Chris.

Full baby belly.

Those little hands again...

Our whole family adores him.

He's the first great grandchild on that side of the family.

Cutie patootie smile.

After dinner, we moved downstairs to watch the Tennessee and Alabama games.

Baby Charlie with his grandmother.

Charlie, Natalie, and Chris.

Can you tell how fond they are of him??

When Natalie ran to get Charlie's bedtime bottle, she asked me to take her place.  Chris just happened to pick the camera up and get a picture of me talking to baby Charlie.

Baby Charlie, we love you!

Small groups and cheese dip

****UPDATE on tonight's concert:  Due to inclement weather, Chris will not be playing at the Don Gallo tonight.  He will instead be playing tomorrow night.  So, be ready to scoop up your ladies and head out for a good ol' Friday night date!****

Tonight was our first night of small groups!!

Chris and I are working with the youth at church.  He has a small group of freshman boys and I have a group of freshman girls.

I think the girls are great and my co-leader, Liane, is wonderful.  She made cupcakes tonight that were delicious!  I can't wait to get to know these girls more while we dig into God's word.

PS:  Chris is will be out at Don Gallo tomorrow night!

Hope to see you there!!

the wedding

Oh, how lovely the little sister's wedding was!

She and Will pulled off a wedding in 6 weeks flat and it could not have been more beautiful.

When the day came, all the pre-wedding planning jitters were gone and we got to work doing those things we had been planning.  Beth had many special people helping on the big day.  They were all there just as they said they would be.

We were all ready to celebrate and love on Beth and Will.

and get them married off.  :)

While Beth was having her hair done, I snuck away to take some detail pictures for you.

Her bouquet, which was completely gorgeous.

Her amazing dress that she allowed me to sneak away with.

Part of the table decorations.

Someone please tell me the name of these most beautiful flowers?  They are dainty and petite - I love them!  They were also tucked into her bouquet.

When I came back to the room, I found the little bride with her perfect wedding hair.

It was so pretty!  She wore the same pearl hair piece that I did in my wedding.

J. Man wearing his bow tie that matched the groomsmen's ties.

You can't see it, but he was wearing new cowboy boots.  He loved them!  He was the ring bearer in the wedding and did a fabulous job.

Amy and Regina - the best wedding directors!

They really did an amazing job.

Cousins Abby and Anna.

Beautiful bridesmaids!!

Happy grandparents!

Mom, the most gorgeous bride ever, and me!

Beth and Will chose to get married at Windswept in Morristown, Tennessee.

It was the perfect setting for this romantic wedding.

Our new family!

I wish I could convey to you the feeling I felt on and off all day.  You can't feel it, but I'll try to describe it.

As we did all the wedding activities, it would just hit me that this was my little sister's wedding.  All the hustle and bustle of that day was for her.  How all these people working were doing it to make that day so special for her and Will.  All these people that we love were there and apart of it.  How I felt seeing our family dressed up and excited.  The way my sister looked in her wedding gown, wearing our mother's pearls and grandmother's bracelet and earrings.  Mom in her pretty dress.  My brother wearing his new suit.  Walking to the ceremony, listening to my husband's voice over the microphone.  Catching his eye as he sang.  Addalee, who walked with a big smile on her face and ran right into her G-Mom's arms.  Dad and his proud smile walking Beth down the aisle.  Beth meeting her almost husband at the end of that aisle.  Seeing Beth smile all the way down.  Scott, the officiant, talking about how Beth always smiles, how Will is a man of honor, and reminding us all that God is the center of marriage.   Seeing my sister tear up as Scott talked about Will.  Feeling the sprinkles of light rain and praying that it stopped (it did).  Watching J. peek around Will to look at Beth, catching her eye, and smiling so sweetly.  Listening to the words that Chris sang during the solo - being so proud of him.  Having Abby and Anna right beside me and other family right in front.  Watching the first kiss of a married couple.  Thanking God for them and that day.

Knowing this is what life is all about.

Happy Wedding Day, Beth and Will!
More importantly, happy life together.  We love you.
